I am writing to apply for the position of Public Safety Telecommunicator Supervisor with the Westminster Police Department. I am a public safety and customer service specialist with 5 years of experience in law enforcement, social services, and telecommunications. In my current role as Public Safety Telecommunicator II, I am responsible for simultaneously monitoring all units on my assigned channel and continuously updating the officers using a computer-aided dispatch software program with new information while processing their requests. I have also worked as a Patient Access Specialist at Denver Health Hospital Authority, where I was responsible for registration and admission of patients at a Level I Trauma Center. In this role, I focused on quality assurance and expediting a patient’s registration in an emergency setting.
I believe my skills and experience make me an ideal candidate for this position. My ability to communicate effectively, pay attention to detail, solve problems quickly, and gather data efficiently will be valuable assets in this role. Additionally, my experience in managing crisis situations will be beneficial in supervising other Public Safety Telecommunicators.
